BoosterSAT works by having users initially take a preliminary practice test, and using the results to determine the users’ level of mastery of the parts of the SAT. Users are able to select an amount of time between 10 and 39 minutes for the preliminary practice test, however it is strongly recommended that students take a 39 minute preliminary practice test, as the longer preliminary test taken on BoosterSAT equates to greater accuracy on the assessment of ability in all parts of the SAT. In the preliminary test, all questions provided are categorized by the College Board as being of “Medium Difficulty,” and after taking the practice test, BoosterSAT will display the areas of the test that need to be improved upon. At this point, BoosterSAT will take users through personalized practice for the areas that were scored poorly on in the preliminary exam. BoosterSAT walks students through three practice problems of each level of difficulty from the subcategories of questions that are on the exam. At the end of the personalized practice, students will have mastered the areas where they had previously scored poorly on the preliminary test and will be able to use this improvement in ability to better their score on the day of the exam.

BoosterSAT works by algorithmically determining a student's ability in the different sections of the exam through the results of a preliminary assessment test. The SAT is composed of eight different categories, four for both Reading and Writing as well as Math, with each category being made up of different subcategories of problems. There are a total of twenty-nine different subcategories that make up the categories of the SAT sections, and BoosterSAT uses the results on the preliminary exam to determine students’ levels of mastery of each of the subcategories. For every subcategory that students get an answer wrong on in the preliminary practice test, BoosterSAT will provide the user with a personalized practice test that will take users through three questions from each level of difficulty of that subcategory. Once users have mastered the subcategory’s personalized practice tests, the assessment of their ability in the subcategory by BoosterSAT will increase. At any time, users are able to take another practice test and determine their level of mastery on the material of the SAT.

All questions have an associated explanation as to how the answer was derived by the College Board when creating the question, and when taking the personalized practice tests to cover the areas where students scored poorly on the preliminary exam, these explanations will be provided when checking the answers. If you are having issues finding the answer explanation for a particular question, we strongly recommend reaching out to us at boostersat.contact@gmail.com. For many questions of the SAT, primarily the math section, there are video walkthroughs available on YouTube, which is a great resource if students are unable to understand the explanations provided by the College Board.

The Navigation bar at the top of all pages allows users to navigate through all of the necessary parts of the site. There is also the footer at the bottom of all pages of the site that provides users with some of the links to navigate across the pages of BoosterSAT, but the Navbar at the top of the page includes all of the different pages of the site so we strongly recommend using it over the footer navigation. If you are logged in and want to take personalized practice tests, these practice tests are available on the home page as long as you have not already mastered all of the parts of the SAT. For navigating the actual test taking page, there are the many components that you would find while taking the actual SAT, including the SAT Math reference sheet which can be found by pressing on the reference sheet button near the top of the testing page. We recommend that users do not navigate out of the testing page while taking the preliminary test or the personalized practice tests as to ensure that their progress is not lost. If you are still having trouble navigating certain parts of the site, please contact us directly at boostersat.contact@gmail.com

Users are able to take practice tests at any point as long as they are logged into their account. If you have not taken the preliminary practice test that is the first thing you need to do, which can be found by pressing the “Start Test” link on the homepage of a logged in user. Even if you have already taken the preliminary practice test, you can take another practice test by going back to the homepage and again pressing the “Start Test” link. We strongly recommend that students complete the personalized practice tests to master the areas that they struggled on before taking another practice test, however it is not required and users are able to take as many practice tests as they want regardless of scores or number of personalized tests completed.
